Students are expected to bring own practice chanter/bagpipes.
This workshop will cover practice techniques, tuning and instrument maintenance. The workshop will be suitable for beginners to intermediate players. Ex Grade One Pipe Major Andy McGregor studied highland bagpipes in Edinburgh Castle. He has travelled extensively through his playing. France, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Canada, and the United States, to name but a few. Andy has recorded and performed alongside artists such as Phil Cunningham, Aly Bain, The Chieftains, RTE Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, and Phil Coulter. He is a current member of folk/rock band Pure Blarney. When he is not performing, he runs a teaching programme and has taught many All Ireland and Ulster Champions.
KasK Showcase - Andy McGregor and Declan Keegan, both members of folk/rock band Pure Blarney will also perform a mix of Scottish and Irish music on the Highland Bagpipes, Whistles, Vocals, Guitar. The repertoire will include energetic jigs and reels to haunting airs.
