Larne novelist Angeline King, author of ‘Dusty
Bluebells’ and ‘Snugville Street’, brings a taste
of her award-winning poetry to Mid Ulster.
Writer in Residence of Ulster University from
2020 to 2023, Angeline has a keen interest in
languages and local dialects. When
commissioned to write an Ulster Scots poem
for a Linen Hall Library Poetry Jukebox
programme in 2025, Angeline wrote about
Bellaghy’s oldest known woman,
Ballymacombs More Woman. This is one of
several new poems inspired by the Bellaghy
area. Angeline is the author of 5 novels, a
children’s illustrated book and a non-fiction
history of Irish Dancing and has contributed
to multiple anthologies and media articles.
