Poetry with Angeline King Celebrating Ulster-Scots Leid Week

Larne novelist Angeline King, author of ‘Dusty Bluebells’ and ‘Snugville Street’, brings a taste of her award-winning poetry to Mid Ulster. Writer in Residence of Ulster University from 2020 to 2023, Angeline has a keen interest in languages and local dialects. When commissioned to write an Ulster Scots poem for a Linen Hall Library Poetry Jukebox programme in 2025, Angeline wrote about Bellaghy’s oldest known woman, Ballymacombs More Woman. This is one of several new poems inspired by the Bellaghy area. Angeline is the author of 5 novels, a children’s illustrated book and a non-fiction history of Irish Dancing and has contributed to multiple anthologies and media articles.
